We'll be at Strange Folk, will you?
It's September again, and that means the Strange Folk Festival is coming up! Millie and her support crew will be at O'Fallon Community Park (map) on September 26 & 27 from 10:00am to 6:00pm, along with a host of amazing crafters.
New Materials: Leather Handles and Upcycled Denim
At the festival, you'll see that Millie has some new tricks up her sleeves! New to the collection are bags lined with upcycled jeans (complete with their handy pockets). Some bags now feature handmade handles crafted by the Leather Ladies of Homestead Heirlooms. Of course, you'll still find the same high quality yarns in all her felted purses and knit wine bottle bags.
Save Money and the Planet through the Upcycle Exchange
This year, Strange Folk is hosting the Upcycle Exchange, an "exciting new concept that challenges shoppers to clean out from their closets, and withhold from their trash, all kind of things that crafters use to make merchandise." By contributing things (like buttons, fabric, or bottle caps) you no longer need, you'll help crafters upcycle materials into beautiful goods, and you'll get a coupon book including discounts and giveaways!
Pink Button Bags is participating by including a 10% coupon in the book. So, take a look at the wishlist (PDF) and the other participating vendors, then dig your junk out of your closets and basement and bring it along to the festival!
